Overview

Your group arrives at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, where a local tour operator will be waiting to greet you. Most flights typically arrive in the afternoon. From there, the group will travel to Netanya for the first night of the tour.

Day 2 - Galilee

Overview

The day begins with a tour of Caesarea Maritima, the Roman port city built by Herod the Great and where the Apostle Paul was imprisoned before his journey to Rome. From here, the group will ascend Mount Carmel, the site where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal. In the afternoon, the tour continues to Nazareth, the town where Jesus grew up and site of Church of the Annunciation. Conclude the day with a scenic boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Day 3 - Galilee

Overview

The tour continues in the Galilee region, starting at the beautiful spring of Banias and the majestic Mount Hermon. Next, we explore the archaeological sites of Magdala, the home of Mary Magdalene, and Capernaum, the residence of Peter, Andrew, James, and John. In Capernaum, you can view the remains of a synagogue that Jesus attended. The tour also passes by Mt. Beatitudes, the traditional site where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Day 4 - Jordan Valley & Dead Sea

Overview

Depart Tiberias and the Galilee region and travel down to Jordan Valley to Qasr El Yahud, the likely location where John the Baptist preached and where Jesus was baptized. Continue on to Ein Gedi near the Dead Sea, the spring where David hid when pursued by King Saul. From here, visit nearby Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Conclude the day with a swim in the Dead Sea and a tour of the ancient city of Jericho. Accommodations in Jerusalem.

Day 5 - Jerusalem

In the morning, depart for the Mount of Olives, where you'll enjoy a magnificent view of the city and the site of the Olivet Discourse. Continue to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations, which marks the traditional place where Jesus prayed before his arrest. Next, the group visits the City of David and explores the Hezekiah Tunnels before ascending to Mount Zion, home to the Tomb of King David, the Cenacle (site of the Last Supper), and the Dormition Abbey. After breakfast, the group ascends to walk the Temple Mount, the heart of ancient Israel's worship. They proceed to the Pool of Bethesda before walking the Via Dolorosa, tracing the Way of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. From here, the group visits the alternate location of Christ's burial at the Garden Tomb before continuing to the Western Wall and concluding the day at the Friends of Zion Heritage Center.
